In response to the rapidly evolving Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, we have implemented a risk management plan to reduce the risk of contagion. Note in these difficult times we are able to operate as usual, we observe the recommended social distance with customers and also have all the professional safety equipment including gloves, masks, sanitisers and hand washing stations which we use normally in our work. The professional pest control industry is an essential service that is responsible for the protection of public health, food and property. Since we know that pests such as rodents and cockroaches do transport various viral diseases and, given the persistence of the SARS-CoV-2 on surfaces, it is prudent that we maintain vigilance and ensure premises are routinely protected from infestations by insect and rodent pests. We consider ourselves lucky that the majority of our services can be undertaken with very minimal personal contact, however if the situation develops, we will act in accordance with government requirements and be in touch with individual clients to discuss how we will manage their sites and contracts. Our priority is the health and safety of our team, our clients and the wider community during this unprecedented time and we thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Some unintentional impacts of Covid are that while business and food outlets have needed to be on restrictions, it has given rats and other pests an opportunity to move about more freely. Pests such as cockroaches, ants, stored product pests will be more active in the warmer months and will also have more opportunities at this time. Termites will continue their activities and our homes will continue to need management of pests.
